After some thought I decided I wanted to go find an "I love my Grandma" and "I love my Grandpa" bib and have them open it on Christmas morning. We also decided we would take a picture with a sign saying "We're Having a Baby"! As soon as I got to Troy on the 23rd I went to Walmart and found the bibs and picked up not one, but two more pregnancy tests! I had to be SURE!! I took another that evening and then another on the 24th! I still saw those two pink lines!! We let Jared's brother Chase and his girlfriend Sarah in on our exciting news so that they could take the picture for us!
After a long day of Christmas visits on Christmas Eve you would think I would be exhausted and ready for bed..... WRONG! I think I slept about 3 hours the night before Christmas!!
FINALLY .... it's Christmas Morning!! We opened all of our gifts except for just one we were saving for last! We told Jared's parents that they had to open the gift together.... here is how it unfolded....
Now that our parents and brothers knew the news there were some best friends that needed to be let it on the secret!! I was of course VERY scared to go spread the word to everyone because you never know what can happen... so we only shared with close family and friends for the first 11 weeks!! I texted the above picture on Christmas Day! It was so nice to finally be able to talk to Julie, Haley, Erin, Jessica, Katie and Caroline!! We were also thrilled to share the news with Aunts, Uncles, and cousins!!! It was REALLY hard keeping that quiet for two days!!
As I mentioned in a previous blog, our friends Sandy and Grant, are also expecting a bundle of joy, now known as Knox! I didn't send Sandy a text on Christmas, but told her I wanted us to chat on our drives back home... When she called we caught up a little bit about how our Christmas was and what was going on in our lives. Then she tells me they have some news.... They are having a baby!!! I screamed, and I mean literally, WE ARE TOO!! We happened to be on the speaker phones in both of our cars, so Jared and Grant were both listening in too! It has been so awesome to have SO many of my close friends pregnant at the same time, but it was extra cool for Sandy and I to share our news with each other on the same day and now both expecting boys only 9 days apart!!
I feel so relieved to have finally caught up to this point! Only a post or two away from being up to date! I hope to be able to blog once week in these last 10 weeks before Riggs' arrival!
Until Next Time...
Stanley and Deborah's reactions were great!
