Showering Riggs... Troy Gift Card Shower

I should start this post by saying how BLESSED Jared and I are to have had SO many showers for our sweet little Riggs! I am truly humbled by the graciousness of everyone who reached out and wanted to help us prepare for our journey into parenthood.
Our last shower was in Troy on Saturday July 28 and was a gift card themed shower! This was a perfect shower because it now allows us to see what get what still need (very little!) and then save the rest for diapers and wipes and all those baby necessities!! The shower was at Ms. Dean Hawkins house and was hosted by a number of Jared's family members and close friends of he and his parents. The setup for the shower was beautiful and my favorite part was that ALL of the food was food that I have enjoyed throughout my pregnancy!! We had mini pizza's on bagels, cashews, whoppers, cheez-its, grapes and strawberries and skittles!! We also had delicious mini cupcakes made by Jared's cousin Amanda (the one who made our awesome gender reveal cake)!
The shower was come and go, so the atmosphere was very relaxed! It was so wonderful! Not only did we get gift cards and money, we also got a few precious bibs and a REALLY soft blanket (from Rachael and Daniel) with his name monogrammed on it! Another gift I really liked from Ms. Ginger, Melissa, Jennifer, Lincy and Ms. Dean was a Scout cooler that we got for when Riggs is a little older!! I know we will get really good use out of it! My other favorite gift was a blue cross that we got to hang on the hospital door!! It has a cool magnetic strip on it that says "It's a Boy". I didn't get a picture of it though!!! It will just have to be a surprise for when he gets here! =)
