Romans 2:6-7 He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life…
“Timing is so important! If you are going to be successful in dance, you must be able to respond to rhythm and timing. It’s the same in the Spirit. People who don’t understand God’s timing can become spiritually spastic, trying to make the right things happen at the wrong time. They don’t get His rhythm – and everyone can tell they are out of step. They birth things prematurely, threatening the very lives of their God-given dreams.” ~ T. D. Jakes
I thought it was very appropriate to start this post off with a bible verse and quote about patience! For those that know me... patience is NOT my strong suit! I am a NOW kind of person, and have always struggled with waiting. Lucky for me, my husband and mother are two of the most irritatingly patient people I know!! By irritating I mean I wish I could be a little bit more like them. =)
Riggs' heart beat is still in the 140's which is great! No weight gain this appointment for me... That is definitely a first!! My blood pressure checked out just fine and I'm still measuring right along where I should be. Then came the fun part... I was a little apprehensive, but ready to see how dilated I would be!! Drum roll please......... 0cm!!! What a Bummer!! I was really hoping for at least 1 cm, but instead.. nothing! He did tell me that my cervix had softened, but couldn't tell me how effaced I was due to the fact that I was not dilated at all. Apparently this is completely normal, but it seems like all the other girls I knew having babies this past year (and yes, all of them have now had their little bambinos) were at least 1 cm at their first check! Lesson #2 from Jared for the day.... quit comparing yourself to others.... as if I didn't know this already! It is really hard not to though!! I also asked Dr. Griggs when he would be able to tell what position Riggs was in, and when we would get a size estimate... once again, because of no dilation he couldn't tell if he was head down already, but we have an ultrasound scheduled for my 38 week appointment to find out his position and approximate weight! All in all, it was a good check-up I just didn't get the news I was looking for! I was very glad to have Jared with me at this appointment, and he will probably come along for the rest of them... if for nothing else a little moral support! =)
The next appointment is next Monday and I will definitely be going into it expecting the same exact news as this past one!
I can't believe there are only 3 1/2 more weeks (maybe) left!! My goal for the next week is to relax, and not worry about when he will get here! I am in the home stretch, and I know he will come when he is ready! I guess he just loves me so much he is not ready to even think about leaving his cozy little home in there.. or that's what I'm going to tell myself! =)
Until Next Time...
